ESPN 3D to broadcast College Football

by Shayan Mondegari on Sep.05, 2010, under ALL, OTHER

This past Thursday September 2, 2010 finally brought back some excitement into my life.В  That’s right… college football made its debut! Finally back for another exciting season, I get to watch the top schools in the nation face each other head-to-head in a thrilling battle to bring home that championship trophy.В  During football season, my priorities dramatically shift from school and gym to staying home and watching football.

This year some of the games are going to be televised on a new channel that just recently came out.В  That channel is ESPN 3D.В  ESPN 3D? What?В  Yes, ESPN has a 3D channel that is planning on showing sports programming, including NBA, college basketball and Winter X Games 15, along with college football.В В  In fact, ESPN has already revealed the first three of the 13 games it plans to broadcast in 3D this season. But what games you ask? Here is a listing of the games.

- Monday, September 6, 8 PM Eastern: Boise State vs. Virginia Tech
- Saturday, September 11, 3:40 PM Eastern: Ohio State vs. Miami
- Saturday, September 18, 7 PM Eastern: Clemson vs. Auburn

The games ESPN 3D are showing look pretty good, as they are the games I’m looking forward to watching each week, except Clemson vs. Auburn. I feel ESPN could have chosen a better game to get in 3D; perhaps No. 16 Georgia Tech at No. 18 North Carolina or No. 1 Alabama at Duke? What do you think?

The games are going to be on special Sony 3D cameras as Sony is the official sponsor of college football on ESPN 3D. I don’t know about you, but I need to know what this ESPN 3D is all about…
