Subway Signs Former Alabama RB Mark Ingram, Surprising?

by Shayan Mondegari on Apr.20, 2011, under ALL, NCAAF, NFL

This has been a busy offseason for former Alabama RB Mark Ingram. В After just getting the cover of EA Sports NCAA Football 12 yesterday, he now has inked a deal with Subway restaurants.

The 2009 Heisman Trophy winner will be a spokesperson for Subway restaurants, starting with activity around next week’s NFL Draft. Ingram will make appearances, blog and do a PR tour for the QSR in N.Y. next week. For the past several years, Subway has selected a top collegian to put a face on its marketing efforts around the draft.

I find it surprising, subway decided to go with a projected late first rounder in the 2011 NFL Draft as their company spokesperson. В I would have liked to see Subway endorsing Cam Newton or Julio Jones instead? В What do you think, is this a good partnership for Subway?
