Electronic Arts Inc today announced Mark Ingram, former University of Alabama running back, has been chosen to be featured on the cover of EA Sports NCAA Football 12.

Ingram won the honor based on a fan vote conducted through Facebook, beating out other college stars like Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley, Washington quarterback Jake Locker and Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray. More than 140,000 votes were cast, and in the end, Mark Ingram became the first fan-voted cover athlete in NCAA Football franchise history.

The cover shows Ingram in uniform posing like the Heisman Trophy, his extended arm showing the inside of his Nike glove with a script “A” on the palm.

The game will be released in stores on July 12.
